Community members are coming together from across the district for the sake of all PPS students!  Together, we're building a movement to support every student in the district and enhance access to quality public education. The Champion PPS Schools campaign currently has nearly $100,000 and counting toward an ambitious goal of raising $1,000,000+ during the current fiscal year. The more we raise, the more we can impact students in the 2026-27 school year, building off the investments made this school year (detailed below).

Please consider making a monthly donation. We need your support to keep this momentum going!

Get Involved! Become a School Liaison

We need people from every PPS school community to act as liaisons — points of contact — to The Fund for PPS. Liaisons will meet monthly to share what's going on at your school and hear updates about our work. Join us to expand the network of "Champions" and help us build a districtwide community focused on improving the academic experience for our kids and expanding fundraising so Champion PPS Schools can continue to invest in our schools and students!

Our Investments

The Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), a group of nine parents and two students, analyzed priorities and ways to make the most impact. With $1,030,000 to allocate for the 2025-26 school year, the PAC proposed the following investments that were then approved by the PPS Board of Education on May 6, 2025:

High-impact tutoring for students in the elementary grades $660,000

PPS has been implementing High Impact Tutoring (HIT) with great results for students, but despite the program’s success, it was facing cuts for the 2025 -26 school year. Thanks to a generous investment from The Fund, the Exciting News is that we are able to double the impact from 26 to 55 elementary schools. Tutoring will be provided 3 times a week for 30 minutes during the school day in the “What I Need” or WIN time block. This research-backed, proven strategy is a huge WIN for our students! Schools were selected by PPS based on reading scores for K-3 students and the number of students identified for additional support.

  • 30 Schools will Partner with Reading Results

  • 9 Spanish Dual Language Immersion Schools will have Two Reading Support Educational Assistants, Bilingual (English/Spanish)

  • 6 Schools will have one Reading Support Educational Assistant

  • 10 Schools will have the opportunity to participate in an online High Impact Tutoring pilot program

HIT uses skill-based interventions and builds strong student-tutor relationships. We’re helping young readers take flight!

Math supports for all 7,000 PPS 9th and 10th graders $70,000

Our approach will increase high school students’ success in Algebra, a key determinant of high school graduation. The IXL Digital Platform provides a suite of adaptive digital mathematics support, individualized skill practice, and real-time skill assessments. IXL is completely aligned with the PPS curriculum and meets students where they’re at, providing support and appropriate next-level challenges. It just adds up!

Food Pantries in 20 Community Schools $200,000

PPS surveyed families in Title I K- and /K-8 Schools and learned that access to food is a key priority. Students benefit from good nutrition and it helps them to be successful in school. We’re investing in food pantries. Help us stock the shelves for families!

Growing our Campaign and Expanding Our Impact $100,000

We’re ramping up efforts to raise even more money for our schools. This seed funding will be utilized for marketing and fundraising efforts to engage PPS families and the broader community.
